This is a sample of recent paintings. Most of these are oil on canvas, however I'm not shy about mixing ingredients. Acrylic, water colour crayons, collage and ink also find their way into my work. Painting is a process of thinking and responding, my job is to show up at the easel everyday.
Commissions are usually accepted, and works can be shipped.

" I have artfully repurposed something that was destined for scrap. I like the idea that my work could entice someone to write or to doodle or to brainstorm. It seems as though these actions are like the chalkboard itself; becoming things of the past. I was asked; "Is it Fine Art or Folk Art?" I don't care. The Artist's job is to experiment, and I will continue to do so." Sarah Irwin 2020
All paintings below are oil paint, on acrylic chalkboard paint, on enameled steel, and varnished. Each piece measures 40"x 8" and weighs 4.5 lbs. Most of the images below are detail shots. They are $295.00 each, hardware, ceramic magnets, and chalk included. Panels can be mounted outside but are not immune to the effects of direct sunlight, salty air, and frost. Interesting commissions accepted.
